What Is The Evolution Of Toto Asia

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto saw North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure the next generation could comprehend the words. However, many of the words were being replaced with foreign words, such as dui from Bengali for verandah.

Origins

Toto's early history, which began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's rapid economic growth. In the beginning of its existence, the company manufactured products to meet the demands of new, modern urban housing. To achieve this, it used the country's first tunnel kiln that produced ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, which allows for more efficiency and consistency.

In the late 1980s the company began expanding outwards to profit from sales and new markets. The company established the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other manufacturers' products in order to expand its line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and expanded the firm's global market share.

In  메이저사이트 , Toto began to concentrate on research and development for water-related appliances. It also improved its system of distribution to better serve its customers and increase profit. The company implemented a just-in-time approach to supply chain management and applied the same methodology in its sales strategy. This resulted in a higher level customer satisfaction.

Toto has been able to continue to innovate with regard to toilet technology. The latest toilet, for instance it has an extremely powerful tornado flush that is more ecologically friendly than traditional toilets. The company also makes use of recycled water in its production process and has a green procurement policy. Apart from toilets, Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more energy efficient than standard models.

The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It features exhibits on the most iconic products of Toto, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics), the history of plumbing, and even bath units. In another gallery, visitors can see Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum also includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet and other toilet-related innovations.

Before the formation of Toto members of the group performed session work for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also played on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name as evocative as Asia you'd think that the group would be prog kings and queens - but it's actually a pretty straight forward rock band. The group began as a group and recorded two albums - 1979's self titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. Although the band have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest hit was in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a massive blockbuster but not without its difficulties. Record companies placed the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us an album that is a success or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on to give it. Luckily for Toto they did, with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is due to their prior experience, as the band members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior to forming the group. Their sonic trademark has become the standard for  1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.

The album begins hard with tracks like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR tunes that slowly creep into your head. The album also features more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album ends with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and distorted AOR that could seem like a complete blunder, but works very well.

After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to wane. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band was through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band continued with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.

Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. The group managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album was the last of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new vocalist.

Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an attempt to return to the classic sextet structure, and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort with a harder edge. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard playing was as well more refined, more precise and less akin to previous efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded their Amsterdam live performance that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released their new studio album just a few months after and then embarked on a world tour help promote the album. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to find songs that hadn't been recorded prior to. The album was released in 2001 as a duo album titled Then and Now. It was the first album by the band not to feature one single track with the word "A" in its title and it included one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which restricted his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes and the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility of reforming the band. The lineup, with the exception of Howe who was busy with Yes during that time, was renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured the appearance of singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
